MOUNT WAVERLEY SECONDARY COLLEGE

Project type

EDUCATION - ACCESSABILITY

Accessibility is fundamental to creating equitable learning environments where all students can participate fully and independently. In educational settings, inclusive design supports not only physical access, but also dignity, confidence and a sense of belonging. Thoughtful accessibility upgrades ensure schools can respond to diverse needs while fostering safe, welcoming and supportive spaces for learning.

Universal access improvements were implemented across the campus to enable students, staff and visitors to move easily between all facilities. The works prioritised direct and equitable access and included upgraded pavements, new ramps and walkways, automatic doors, widened doorways and improved circulation spaces. An accessible car parking space was also introduced, alongside a range of internal and external modifications designed to enhance both internal and external accessibility throughout the school.
