This project involved the design and delivery of a new outdoor play space for Burwood Heights Primary School, aimed at supporting inclusive, active and imaginative play within the school grounds. The design responds to the needs of a growing school community, providing a safe and engaging environment that encourages physical activity, social interaction and creativity.
The upgraded playground is organised to accommodate a range of play experiences, from climbing and balance activities to quieter, sensory-based play. Clear sightlines and open layouts improve supervision, while integrated shade structures enhance comfort and usability throughout the year.
The completed play space provides a vibrant and inclusive outdoor environment that supports student wellbeing and everyday learning through play. The project contributes to a positive school atmosphere and encourages active use of outdoor spaces across a range of age groups.
